Florida Physician’s License in Jeopardy Over Accusations

A 49 year-old Central Florida physician, a certified pain specialist, has been accused of molesting six women patients while injecting pain medicine into their spine. He will appear before the Florida Board of Medicine to determine whether or not he will lose his license.

The physician has denied, during the formal hearing, that he molested the women and hopes for vindication.  However, if the board votes for revocation, the physician will appeal the case to the court system.  In most cases, doctors are allowed to practice while the appeal is pending.

The physician stated recently that he is currently unemployed.  He was apparently fired from his place of employment after a number of women had complained. The Department of Health issued an order restricting his practice.  In December, 2013, the medical board refused to accept a proposed settlement.
