The State of Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC)

The Florida Real Estate Commission, or commonly referred to as FREC,  is a part of the Division of Real Estate as well as the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board, or FREAB.  These divisions are all under the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, or DBPR. FREC has seven members appointed by the Governor of Florida and the Florida Senate confirms the members.  There are five members who are licensed in real estate (four are real estate brokers, and one is a real estate sales associate or broker) and two members who have never been licensed.

The purpose of the Florida Real Estate Commission is to protect the consumer, and  requiring education and regulation of licensees. A prospective candidate must pass the Florida Real Estate Broker Examination scoring at least 75 points on the exam. Then the license is issued by the commission after you submit a completed RE-2050-1 form.
The Florida Real Estate Commission meeting is held on the third Wednesday of every month. The Florida Real Estate Commission also deals with matters related to fraudulent practices done by the real estate salesperson and brokers.

Disciplinary proceedings against your real estate license in Florida, can put your professional license in jeopardy.
Remember, your license is your livelihood.
If you have licensing issues, Florida License Defense Attorney, Lars Soreide, of Soreide Law Group, PLLC, will represent you in front of the Florida Real Estate Commission. To speak to an attorney, at no cost please call: (888)760-6552 .
